In general, antique dealers consider vintage jewelry as those produced between the 50's and 80's. These jewels often have a strong style and easily stand out from the Tank or Art-Deco jewelry that precedes them. In the 1960s and 1970s, yellow gold was the main material, while pink gold and platinum were less commonly used. Yellow gold is in all its states...twisted into yarn, hammered, brushed or polished...Precious stones, sapphires, rubies or emeralds are always well highlighted in closed or clawed settings. Manufacturing techniques are emerging. Vintage jewelry is easy to wear and brings an undeniable touch of elegance.
